Culminating Blog Reflection

For my capstone project I used my critical thinking to my advantage, every time I knew how to do something and the kids didn't I would show them how to do it. I communicated well with the kids talking to them in a way that they understand.  I communicated with my peers very well including my mentor. As collaborating, I collaborated with all my peers and mentor very well. Breaking up the schedule on who what do what that day. When I'd do Arts & Craft I would use my creativity in making things for the kids there.
From the capstone experience I gained how to time manage my work. It helped me use my time wisely and make a schedule on what days I do what so that I won't be so overwhelmed. I also learned to have more self control. I know how to talk to kids with problems and make them feel like they too are special. I also learned how to work more with people because communicating with the people you work with is important.
The challenge I encountered was getting this project done on time because aside of English being a class that I need for graduation there's also math. I started putting to much time into my capstone project that I started forgetting about all my other class's and my grades started dropping. After I finished my capstone I started bringing up my grades with the other class. I also had a hard time with taking orders from other people aside of my teachers and parents I don't really like listening to others. So I had to get use to my mentor telling me what to do. The way I overcame this was by remembering that one day I will have a boss who wont be a teacher or my parent and if I want to keep that job I will have to learn how to take orders from people who are in charge. Other than that this capstone project was a great experience and the children were great!
